The Northern Lights Route – Three Towns, Six Nights
Why settle for one sky when you can have three? The Northern Lights Route takes you through Swedish Lapland with two nights in each of our three destinations – Luleå, Jokkmokk and Kiruna – sleeping under glass the whole way.
The aurora is never guaranteed. Clouds can cover one valley while the sky is clear 100 km away. By moving from the coast to the forest and on to the mountains, you are not dependent on the weather in one single place – and six nights under glass give you six chances to see the Northern Lights.
Best season: September to March.
Your Route, Night by Night
Nights 1–2: Luleå Glass Rooms
Land at Luleå Airport and spend your first nights by the coast in one of our four elevated glass rooms. Self check-in, private toilet, open sky above your bed. (No shower and no breakfast at this property.)
Nights 3–4: Jokkmokk – Peace & Quiet Nature Hotel
About 2.5 hours inland by car, just north of the Arctic Circle. Our original nature hotel on the Lule River – floating glass rooms, goahti-inspired huts, sauna, ice bathing and most of our organised activities. The heart of Sámi culture in Swedish Lapland.
Nights 5–6: Kiruna Glass Rooms
About 3 hours further north. Three glass rooms by the Torne River, 600 metres from the Icehotel in Jukkasjärvi. Breakfast buffet and a private sauna session are included, with shared showers in the main lounge building. Fly home from Kiruna Airport.
How to book
Choose your dates and book the nights at each destination via Book Your Stay, or contact us and we will help you plan the route, the order of the stops and transport between them. The route works just as well in the opposite direction – from Kiruna to Luleå.
